This booklet was developed for Inclusion Ireland by Dr Mary McCarron, Lecturer at the Department of Nursing & Midwifery Studies, Trinity College Dublin. Dr. McCarron has worked in the area of Intellectual Disability for twenty years and has found that many people who have relatives with Intellectual Disability who develop Alzheimer’s Dementia have the same concerns and questions.

This booklet was written to try to help people understand the changes that are taking place in their life and that of their family member with intellectual disability and to give practical advice on how to cope with those changes.
