The Walkinstown Association Self
Advocacy Project commenced in November 2005. Inclusion Ireland developed
and delivered a course specific to the establishment of an advocacy
programme for the Walkinstown Association in relation to self advocacy.

to two groups of 21 service users and a number of staff within the association.
Outcomes to date:
- Provided service users with an opportunity to explore the issues
around advocacy
- Provided service users with an opportunity to talk with people
whose lives have been affected by the process
- A Training programme was devised for staff and service users
- The establishment of a self advocacy group within the Walkinstown
Association
