Inclusion Ireland Annual Report 2015

Inclusion Ireland has produced an Easy-to-Read document for its Annual Report 2015. We hope that this year's Annual Report is another step forward in making information as accessible to people as possible. The document is now available to download and includes sections on Families, Self-Advocacy, How we make change happen, Law in Ireland and Training. 

'A Manifesto for Community Inclusion’

Inclusion Ireland has collaborated with Down Syndrome Ireland and the Center for Independent Living on a General Election 2016 document called 'A Manifesto for Community Inclusion’. This comprehensive document contains a broad range of disability issues including ratification of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, Personal Assistance (PA) Services, Accessibility, Deinstitutionalisation, Employment Opportunities and Therapy Services. The document reflects the views of parents, members, persons with disabilities, advocates, self-advocates disability experts and practitioners. Published in January 2016.

'A Disability Manifesto for Equality and Human Rights - Intellectual disability issues for the 32nd Dáil

The Manifesto was published in January 2016 and reflects the views of parents, members, persons with disabilities, advocates, self-advocates disability experts and practitioners. The document includes sections on the following: Advocacy Supports, Therapy Services, Access to Early Childhood Education, Inclusive Education Supports, Life-Long Education and Training, Direct Payments, Cost of Disability, Assisted Decision-Making Supports and Disability Hate Crime.

Inclusion Ireland Pre-Budget Submission 2016

Disability supports and services are undergoing significant reform. This reform programme is about moving towards a new model of person‐centred and community-based supports. Individualised supports are key top reform – a ‘money follows the person’ model. This Government has a small window of opportunity to initiate key reforms which would deliver meaningful change.

Right to Reform - Inclusion Ireland, AT Network and the Center for Independent Living

 
Representatives from Inclusion Ireland, the AT Network, the Center for Independent Living and a cross-section of disability activists took part in a disability rights protest outside Government Buildings between Tuesday, September 15th and Thursday, September 17th, 2015. Protesters called for key Programme for Government commitments to be met.

Sexual Assault - Support and Information Accessible Booklet'

The booklet aims to meet the information needs of survivors of sexual abuse with an intellectual disability and raise awareness of the information needs of survivors of sexual abuse with an intellectual disability.

Inclusion Ireland has compiled a short Fact Sheet on the Assisted Decision Making Act 2015.

Inclusion Ireland Annual Report 2014

Inclusion Ireland has published their annual report for 2014 which contains information on Families, Self-Advocacy and Monitoring Policy, Law and Practice. The edition also contains information on how Inclusion Ireland supports persons with disabilities and families, comprehensive Training section and lists our achievements for 2014. There is also an Inclusion Ireland 2014 infographic and the list of organisations that we have collaborated with over the 12-month period.

'The Distant Voice'

Inclusion Ireland has released ‘The Distant Voice’ working paper which analyses the Health Information and Quality Authority (Hiqa) inspection of 123 units providing residential services for over 700 people with disabilities across Ireland during 2014.

'The Case of Speech and Language Therapy'

Inclusion Ireland released this working paper as a part of a process of engagement with parents, therapists, academics and others to ascertain the extent and quality of speech and language therapy provision for children with additional support needs.

'National Housing Strategy for People with a Disability'

Inclusion Ireland collaborated with the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government on an easy to read version of the National Housing Strategy.

Calendar - Commemorative 50th Anniversary Calendar Wallchart

A calendar wall chart to celebrate Inclusion Ireland's 50th Anniversary is available. The calendar features cartoons by Johnny Connaughton, which formed part of the "Little Book of Disability". The cartoons captured the essence of the 2005 "My Voice My Choice" self-advocacy conference. You can view the calendar online here. Hard copies are available by contacting the office.

This book of cartoons was created by Johnny Connaughton, designer and cartoonist, who captured the essence of the 2005 ‘My Voice My Choice’ self-advocacy conference.
