Inclusion Ireland is concerned by the lack of reporting of cases of COVID-19 in residential services for people with intellectual disabilities. We have raised this directly with the Minister for Health in a face to face meeting on April 27th. People with disabilities and their families are also very concerned by the lack of transparent information. Minister Harris has pledged to publish this information as it becomes available.
Until detailed information is made available, Inclusion Ireland has collated data and articles from various reliable news sources.
At present there are no COVID cases in 90% of residential services but sadly 16 people have died from the virus (8 confirmed and 8 suspected).
