Sarah Lennon appointed Interim CEO of Inclusion Ireland

The chairperson of Inclusion Ireland, Lorraine Dempsey, has today announced the appointment of Sarah Lennon as interim CEO effective 10th of December. The appointment comes following the departure of CEO Paddy Connolly to Age Action in October.
Sarah has worked with Inclusion Ireland since 2006 in a range of roles including, most recently, the position of Communications & Information Manager. Sarah has a comprehensive understanding of the legal, policy, advocacy and accessibility issues faced by people with disabilities and their families.
Lorraine said, "On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Sarah into the role of interim CEO. Sarah has extensive knowledge of the work of Inclusion Ireland and will assist us through the next 6 months while the recruitment process for a new CEO is completed. I look forward to engaging with Sarah during this transition period, as the Board focus on developing Inclusion Ireland's next strategic plan for 2019 onwards".
Sarah said “I am looking forward to working with the board and staff over the coming months to continue the important work that Inclusion Ireland does. I am really pleased to take up this role at this exciting time not just for Inclusion Ireland but for disability advocacy in general. Having ratified the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, we must now deliver on its promise and I’m looking forward to helping Inclusion Ireland play an important role in that process”.
Sarah will assume the role until the appointment of a permanent CEO during 2019.
