Ahead of Ireland’s formal appearance before the UN Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women, in Geneva next Wednesday, February 15th, the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC) has published an independent report on the status of women’s human rights and gender equality in Ireland.

The findings and recommendations on areas such as workplace discrimination, equal representation, gender based violence, threats to marginalised groups of women, and access to justice will be presented to the Committee in Geneva early next week by the Commission.

The report will inform the Committee’s review of Ireland’s compliance with the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
