IDS-TILDA illustrates health and social challenges in 'Scenes from our Lives' videos

The Intellectual Disability Supplement to The Irish Longitudinal Study on Ageing (IDS-TILDA) has launched a series of films called ‘Scenes from our Lives’ showing some of the health and social challenges that people with an intellectual disability face as they get older.

'Screens from our Lives' vidoes were launched in the Science Gallery in Trinity College Dublin on Monday, December 5th.

Minister of State with responsibility for disabilities Finian McGrath was on hand at the launch to present awards to the actors involved in making the films.

The IDS-TILDA is a longitudinal study about growing older with an intellectual disability in Ireland.

The study is being carried out by a team of researchers, based in Trinity College, Dublin.

To share some of the key findings from Wave 2 of the study, a number of short films were made and acted by people with intellectual disabilities.
