'Smashing Barriers' play to challenge attitudes and assumptions around disability

Smashing Barriers Drama Collective’s ‘Smashing Barriers’ will perform at this year’s Smock Allies: Scene + Heard Festival from 21st- 23rd February, 6.30pm nightly, in the Main Space, at Smock Alley Theatre.

Inclusion Ireland Chairperson Kathryn O'Shea to speak at 'Laws Can Change Lives' event

Sage is hosting a public meeting titled ‘Law Can Change Lives - Responding to the human rights of older people and adults who may be vulnerable’ in Dublin on Tuesday, February 28th.

The event will be held in The Davenport Hotel, Merrion Street Lower, Dublin 2 (6.30pm-9.00pm).

The context will be the Assisted Decision-Making (Capacity) Act 2015, proposed Deprivation of Liberty provisions in the Disability (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2016, strategic developments in the area of safeguarding and the developing role of advocacy.

Swinford Library and Cultural Centre to host Connect Family Network talk on March 4th

Inclusion Ireland will be providing four free training and information talks for parents, siblings, friends and carers of children and adults with an intellectual disability in Mayo in the coming months.

The series will cover four talks on community living, assisted decision-making and practical advocacy supports.

All talks will take place in Swinford Library and Cultural Centre, Swinford, Co Mayo.

The first one will take place on Saturday, March 4th (11.00am-1.30pm).
