URGENT PLEA TO GOVERNMENT FROM INCLUSION IRELAND CHAIRPERSON ON BEHALF OF PARENTS
Inclusion Ireland Chairperson William Shorten will tomorrow call on the Government to ensure services for people with an intellectual disability and their families will not be further eroded. Mr. Shorten will make this call at the opening of Inclusion Ireland’s 2009 AGM in Monaghan.
Mr. Shorten will say:
“The erosion of present services and refuting of promised services, and the delaying tactics of putting into law, the entitlements of the most vulnerable within our society, will not be tolerated.”Also, parents will tomorrow evening ask local TDs questions on special education, funding and the need for standards in residential services, during a debate chaired by Mark Little from RTÉ.
