INCLUSION IRELAND AGM 2008 THIS WEEKEND

Fianna Fáil leader-elect Brian Cowen will among the politicians taking part in a Question & Answer session tomorrow evening (Friday 11 April) as part of the Inclusion Ireland AGM 2008. Inclusion Ireland, the National Association for People with an Intellectual Disability, will hold its AGM in the Tullamore Court Hotel, Tullamore on Friday and Saturday, 11 and 12 April 2008. The Q&A session will involve Inclusion Ireland members asking politicians about a number of burning issues including:

  • The dire lack of speech and language therapists;
  • The means test for carers;
  • The follow-on from the Comptroller & Auditor General’s 2006 report on the Provision of Disability Services by Nonprofit Organisations;
  • The public service disability employment target of 3%;
  • The Disabled Drivers and Disabled Passengers Tax Concessions Scheme;

David Begg, ICTU General Secretary is the keynote speaker on Saturday 12 April, and he will focus on employment issues and people with a disability.

 

Inclusion Ireland is the National Association for People with an Intellectual Disability. Representing 28,000 people with an intellectual disability in Ireland, Inclusion Ireland is the largest national organisation working to promote the rights of people with an intellectual disability. Our vision is that of people with an intellectual disability living and participating in their community with equal rights as citizens to live the life of their choice to their fullest potential.
