INCLUSION IRELAND HOLDING ‘MAKING DECISIONS ABOUT MONEY’ WORKSHOPS FOR PEOPLE WITH AN INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY
Inclusion Ireland will be holding workshops for people with an intellectual disability about making decisions on money. Workshops will be held in Dublin, Galway, Cork and Killarney in December and the New Year and will involve discussions and exercises on making decisions about money and practical tips on money.
Training & Information Officer Sarah Lennon, who will be hosting the workshops, has previously held very successful workshops for people with an intellectual disability on issues such as Voting, Your Rights and General Decision-Making. Sarah says “the reaction to our planned workshops on money has been incredible. There is a serious appetite among people with an intellectual disability to being informed about, and taking control of their money.”
Inclusion Ireland CEO Deirdre Carroll says “Inclusion Ireland works to promote rights and equality for people with an intellectual disability. In order to make decisions about money, one must first be informed about how to deal with money. The massive interest we have seen in these workshops has shown people want this information.”
While many of workshops have been booked up, demand has been such that Sarah is currently planning more dates for the New Year.
